Kraynytsia – YOUR HOMELAND IN YOUR HOME
An Idea That Became a Product
Kraynytsia didn't start with a client brief, but with a challenge we set for ourselves. We have a long-standing partnership with Lanavitta, a Ukrainian throw blanket manufacturer. This time, however, we proposed moving beyond just another seasonal release to create something with true depth, rather than simply high-quality fabric and design.
That is how the concept was born — and with it, the name Kraynytsia (derived from Kray, meaning «homeland» or «native region), where the traditions of Ukrainian regional carpet weaving and textile craftsmanship found a voice in contemporary design. We wanted to reimagine what an object from your homeland could be today — not a static museum artifact, but a living piece that offers comfort, protection, and strength. We walked this entire journey ourselves: from initial research to product conception, design, packaging, content creation, and full ad campaign execution.
Inspired by Ukraine's Weaving Heritage
Traditionally, Ukrainian homes were guarded by rushnyks (embroidered towels) and woven carpets. Their patterns were never purely decorative; they carried sacred symbols, ancestral memory, and the identity of one's native soil. Today, millions of Ukrainians live far from home, and distance only makes this sense of belonging more valuable.
Heritage, Reimagined
We immersed ourselves in the visual heritage of Ukraine's regions — ornaments, color palettes, and weaving techniques passed down through generations. From the red-on-white geometric Krolevets weaving of the Sumy region to the floral motifs of Reshetylivka carpet making in Poltava, we searched for each region's distinct visual voice. Rather than copying traditional ornaments, we reinterpreted them through a modern design lens while preserving their origin and character.
The result is 11 unique designs, one for each region, each featuring its own composition and color logic. We created more than just a product line — it is a living collection of Ukraine's regions, built to expand over time.
Kraynytsia is a code of your native land, a story woven into a pattern, and the warmth of home you can carry with you.
We reimagined the traditional throw blanket and table runner into modern home pieces that restore a tangible connection to one's roots, no matter where life has taken them.
A Holistic Product Narrative
The idea couldn't end with the product itself; it had to live beyond the fabric. We developed packaging and collateral materials that tell the story behind each pattern, ensuring that anyone holding Kraynytsia understands where its code comes from. It transformed from simple home textiles into a meaningful gift and a protective charm.
Visual Brand Identity
We defined the style for photo and video communications and conducted a comprehensive campaign shoot. Our goal was to showcase Kraynytsia not as an ethnographic souvenir, but as a sleek, contemporary item. In our creative assets, we emphasized home, intimacy, and warmth, showing that tradition doesn't belong in the past — it naturally integrates into everyday modern life. This content served as the foundation for the website, social media channels, PR, and ad campaign.
An Ad Campaign Bringing You Closer to Home
We developed an omnichannel campaign strategy across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Google — guiding audiences from their first introduction to the concept to choosing their specific region and completing a purchase. For each funnel stage, we crafted emotional and rational messaging, visual creative systems, scripts, and video ads.
Across all channels and formats, one simple core thought anchored the campaign:
No matter where you are, your homeland can be right beside you.
Uniting Around a Shared Meaning
Kraynytsia became a project people naturally wanted to be a part of. The composition Polonyna by singer and composer LELÉKA became part of the advertising campaign. This collaboration organically reinforced our central premise: Ukrainian tradition isn't just something to preserve — it inspires new music, design, and ideas.
